The UAE has ordered a temporary switch to distance learning for all schools following missile alerts linked to regional tensions with Iran.

The Ministry of Education said remote learning will be in place from Tuesday, May 5, until Friday, May 8, covering students, teachers and administrative staff across nurseries and public and private schools nationwide.

The decision came after schools had earlier told parents that classes would continue as normal, while putting precautionary safety measures in place and monitoring developments.

School administrations said they remained in close coordination with authorities throughout the day and were ready to adjust plans if required.

They also stressed that student safety remained the main concern as the situation developed.
