Sharjah ruler launches job training program for unemployed residents

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved a new program to train and qualify job seekers registered with the Sharjah Department of Human Resources. Participants will receive a monthly stipend of Dhs6,000. The program is set to begin on Monday, August 12, 2024.

Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, announced the initiative during an interview with Mohammed Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority. The announcement was made on the Direct Line program.

The program aims to include 1,815 job seekers, including 500 from Sharjah City, 400 from Khorfakkan, 400 from Kalba, 200 from Dibba Al Hisn, 300 from the Central Region and 15 from Al Hamriyah.

The initiative is coordinated with specialized bodies such as the University of Sharjah and other universities across the emirate. The program consists of a three-month qualification period followed by three months of field training in government entities.

Participants will undergo training aligned with their specializations, gaining experience necessary for employment across various sectors in the emirate. Al Zaabi emphasized the inclusion of job seekers with diverse academic qualifications, highlighting Sheikh Sultan’s commitment to fostering stable and cohesive families by enhancing employment opportunities.
