Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and Eaton, a global power management company, have agreed to establish a new sustainable campus in Dubai. This facility will consolidate Eaton's commercial, manufacturing and support functions, with plans for future expansion.

The new campus will extend Eaton's research, engineering and manufacturing capacities, enhancing Dubai's advanced electrical and electronic components manufacturing capabilities for various industries, including data centres, buildings and solar energy. The 500,000-square-foot facility's construction will commence in 2025 and is projected to complete by 2026.

The project will create approximately 700 jobs, covering high-skilled engineering roles and advanced manufacturing positions. A new R&D centre will focus on sustainable manufacturing, power management, machine learning, AI and related fields. The campus will use automation, analytics and advanced robotics, adhering to Industry 4.0 principles and will set a standard for sustainable buildings and manufacturing in the region.

The signing ceremony at Jafza was attended by His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World, Craig Arnold, Chairman and CEO of Eaton and senior management from both companies. H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem highlighted the partnership's role in advancing smart manufacturing in Jafza, supporting Dubai's D33 strategy and contributing to the UAE’s economy and sustainable energy transition.

Craig Arnold emphasized the partnership's importance in promoting green manufacturing and increasing R&D capabilities, which will aid in developing Emirati talent and supporting a sustainable energy transition for customers and partners.
