Dubai is set to welcome the world’s tallest wellbeing resort as part of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033. The project, announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, will be a landmark addition to the city’s urban landscape.

Set to rise 100 metres high, the 'Therme Dubai' will be situated at Zabeel Park and is expected to open in 2028.

"This innovative project reflects our commitment to enhancing urban biodiversity and environmental sustainability, and creating enriching experiences for Dubai's residents and visitors," said the Crown Prince.

The development will receive a Dh2 billion investment and will include an interactive park alongside the world’s largest indoor botanical garden. Designed to accommodate 1.7 million visitors annually, the 500,000-square-foot resort will be divided into three sections focusing on 'restoring, relaxing and playing'.

The announcement coincided with National Environment Day, reinforcing Dubai’s vision towards sustainability. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, also emphasized the importance of environmental conservation through social media posts.

In line with the UAE’s broader green initiatives, the Dubai Municipality recently disclosed that 216,500 trees were planted across the city in 2024, reflecting a 17 per cent increase from the previous year. This equates to an average of 600 trees being planted daily throughout the past year.

Additionally, UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the country’s support for global climate action and emphasized the need for collective responsibility to tackle shared environmental challenges.

With a strong focus on sustainability and wellbeing, the Therme Dubai project is poised to redefine urban living, offering a unique blend of relaxation and environmental conservation.
