Dubai: Indian jeweller creates Dh300,000 diamond-studded Lego World Cup trophy
text_fieldsA Lego FIFA World Cup trophy assembled by a 10-year-old boy in Dubai has been turned into a Dh300,000 luxury showpiece after being decorated with more than 900 diamonds and handcrafted 18-carat gold elements.
The trophy was first built by Yash Karamchandani, who spent three days assembling the 2,842-piece Lego model.
His father, Hemant Karamchandani, founder and chief executive of Passion Jewellers, later transformed the model into what is believed to be the world’s most expensive Lego trophy. The valuation is equivalent to about Rs77.28 lakh.
The 36cm trophy was completed at Passion Jewellers’ workshop in Dubai’s Gold & Diamond Park over about 35 days.
Custom-made 18-carat gold pieces were created to fit into the original Lego structure, while diamonds were set by hand across selected areas.
The jeweller chose not to cover the entire trophy with diamonds, keeping the design close to the original FIFA World Cup look while adding a fine jewellery finish.
Despite its valuation, the trophy is not for sale. It will tour schools, football academies, shopping malls and public exhibitions across the UAE.
The display is intended to encourage young people to connect creativity with sport and pursue ambitious ideas.
According to The National, the replica is part of the “Beyond the Game” initiative under the UAE’s “100 Dreams. 100 Opportunities” campaign.
After the public tour, the trophy could be auctioned for charity or placed on display at Dubai’s Museum of the Future.
