Dubai has welcomed world leaders, government officials, and industry experts as the World Governments Summit 2025 (WGS-2025) begins, bringing together key decision-makers to discuss global challenges and opportunities. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, officially welcomed the distinguished guests on Monday, emphasizing the event’s role in fostering international collaboration.

“We welcome the esteemed guests of the World Government Summit, which commences tomorrow with record-breaking international participation. More than 30 heads of state and 140 government delegations, comprising 400 ministers, will engage with global business leaders and international organisations across more than 200 sessions covering all future sectors,” Sheikh Mohammed said on his X account.

The three-day summit, running from February 11 to 13, is set to explore major global transformations under the theme “Shaping Future Governments.” It will address critical issues across various sectors, focusing on how governments can navigate evolving global landscapes through innovation and cooperation.

“The mission is clear: to enhance global cooperation, exchange expertise, foster relationships, and inspire innovative solutions to improve the lives of communities. We welcome the governments of the world to Dubai and the UAE,” Sheikh Mohammed added.

With participation from over 30 heads of state, delegations from 140 governments, and representatives of more than 80 international and regional organizations, the summit is expected to shape new strategies for government performance and global development. More than 6,000 attendees, including influential thought leaders and experts, will contribute to discussions aimed at accelerating international progress and prosperity.

The World Governments Summit continues to serve as a global platform for shaping policies and fostering dialogue, reinforcing Dubai’s role as a hub for international collaboration and forward-thinking governance.
