The activities marking Arabic Language Month in Thailand, organized by the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, have concluded, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency.

Held in collaboration with Krirk University in Bangkok and Prince of Songkla University in Hat Yai, the initiative aimed to strengthen Arabic language curricula, enhance teacher performance, and promote the language among non-native speakers in the region.

A key highlight of the initiative was a scientific symposium that addressed the teaching of Arabic to non-native speakers. Discussions focused on Saudi Arabia’s contributions to Arabic education globally, the challenges faced by educators and students and strategies for developing effective dual-language curricula.

The program also featured a series of workshops, training sessions, and panel discussions, all of which aimed to advance teaching methodologies and improve learning outcomes for students of the Arabic language.

Abdullah Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of the academy, praised the support provided by Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, which he said was instrumental in the initiative’s success.

This effort in Thailand is part of the academy’s broader global program to promote Arabic language education. Similar initiatives have been implemented in countries including Indonesia, China, India, Uzbekistan, Brazil and France, showcasing the academy’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and expanding the global reach of the Arabic language.

The activities in Thailand enhanced Arabic language education and also highlighted the cultural and educational collaboration between Saudi Arabia and the Southeast Asian nation.
