Saudi Arabia's shops, businesses to remain open during prayer timings

Riyad: Shops and other businesses can now keep open during prayer timings in Saudi Arabia, as per the circular issued by the Federation of Saudi Chambers.
The circular issued on Thursday also directs shops and other commercial establishments to remain open throughout the working hours.
The new decidion is in line with the precautionary measures against the coronavirus to prevent crowding, gathering and long waiting hours.
The move is expected to improve the shopping experience in coordination with related authorities, the federation added.
The federation has also directed the operators of commercial activities to take "appropriate measures" to organise work, provide services and workers' rotation in a way that does not hamper them as well as customers from performing prayers.
