Japan officials join Saudi Vision 2030 Ministerial Roundtable
text_fieldsA high-level Japanese government delegation, led by Economy, Trade, and Industry Minister Yoji Muto and Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Hisashi Matsumoto, held strategic discussions with Saudi Arabian officials in Riyadh to advance bilateral cooperation under the Japan-Saudi Vision 2030 initiative.
The talks, hosted during the Japan-Saudi Vision 2030 Ministerial Roundtable, brought together key figures, including Saudi Arabia’s Investment Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al-Saud, chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation. This meeting follows the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Vision 2030 framework held in December 2023.
According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s statement, the roundtable centered on reviewing the progress of ongoing projects and mapping future collaboration in areas such as culture, sports, education and research.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsumoto expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved, emphasizing Japan’s commitment to deepening relations with Saudi Arabia as part of celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The Japanese delegation also stressed their hopes for the success of EXPO 2025, scheduled to take place in Osaka, Kansai and conveyed their support for a smooth transition to Riyadh for EXPO 2030.
The Vision 2030 partnership remains a cornerstone of economic and cultural ties between Japan and Saudi Arabia, with both nations aiming to foster innovation, diversify economic sectors and enhance mutual development. The continued dialogue reflects a shared commitment to realizing the ambitious goals set within the Vision 2030 framework.
