Qatar: Education Ministry inspects schools as students resume in-person classes
text_fieldsQatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education has stepped up field inspections across public and private schools as students resumed in-person classes.
The inspections are focused on tracking the progress of the academic process and assessing how schools are applying safety measures, procedures and guidelines to protect students.
Undersecretary Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi visited five schools, where he met administrators and attended parts of classes to check that students had returned to normal routines.
The visits covered Ibn Taymiyyah Secondary School for Boys, Talha bin Abdullah Preparatory School for Boys, Qatar Secondary School of Banking and Business Administration for Girls, Doha British School and ACS International School. Maha Zayed Al-Qaqa’ Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, joined the tour.
Dr Al-Nuaimi said the visits were meant to review student conditions, provide support and reassure the public that schools are operating in safe and stable environments with preventive systems in place.
He said conditions are now more suitable for the education process to return to normal after previous disruptions, adding that efforts are continuing to move forward with the academic year.
He also commended teachers, school leaders and administrators for maintaining continuity during distance learning and said the system’s readiness is supported by digital infrastructure and coordination with state institutions.
The ministry said preparations for the return to classrooms included training teaching and administrative staff with the Ministry of Interior’s Civil Defense on safety procedures, emergency evacuations and response protocols.
Staff were also trained on the use of emergency exits, evacuation routes, assembly points and how to respond to alerts from the National Warning System.
