Kuwait permits fully vaccinated foreigners to enter the country from August 1

The Health Ministry requires foreigners wishing to travel to Kuwait to have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines approved by the Gulf state including Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, which requires only one dose, and a certificate proving their vaccination status.

Travellers must present a negative PCR certificate taken 72 hours prior to entry and must undergo another test during a seven-day home quarantine in the country. The ministry added that further quarantine procedures can be avoided if the PCR test is confirmed with negative results.

Meanwhile, the state's Ministry of Education along with the Ministry of Interior and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) are coordinating to facilitate an entry option for stranded non-Kuwaiti students to attend their in-person examination by July 4, according to local media reports.

Kuwait has also restricted international travel for non-vaccinated nationals. From August 1, only Kuwaiti citizens who have received two jabs of the designated anti-covid19 vaccine will be allowed to travel abroad. However, the directive exempts people in age groups ineligible to receive vaccinations.

Moreover, the Kuwaiti cabinet also limited entry into public places, such as restaurants and cafes, health clubs, salons and large commercial spaces, to vaccinated people from Sunday, June 27.
