Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has launched “Salem”, a new digital platform for health services aimed at simplifying access to medical care for citizens and residents.

Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi announced the launch on Wednesday during a presentation at the Center for Government Communication, attended by Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Saud Al-Omar and senior health officials.

Dr. Al-Awadhi said the Salem app replaces the previous “Seha” platform and allows users to book hospital and clinic appointments, access medical records, view lab results and receive alerts about checkups and prescriptions. The app is also integrated with other government systems to improve emergency responses and data sharing.

He added that the ministry plans to expand the app’s functions to include public health programs, chronic disease monitoring, and home healthcare services.

Minister Al-Omar praised the initiative as a step forward in Kuwait’s digital services, noting that his ministry is prepared to support data integration through the national portal.

Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Affairs Eng. Adel Al-Rashedi said the app consolidates more than 30 health systems and stores over 100 million health records, describing it as a major step in Kuwait’s digital health transformation.

Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad added that Salem is part of ongoing efforts aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035 to modernize healthcare delivery.
