Kuwait: Harvard names Nadia Al-Zeabot regional director for MENA alumni
text_fieldsHarvard University has appointed Nadia Al-Zeabot as the first Kuwaiti woman to serve as Regional Director for the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) Board of Directors for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The appointment highlights Harvard’s recognition of distinguished female leaders from the region and reflects the growing global appreciation for the contributions of Kuwaiti professionals and Arab women.
“This milestone is not merely a personal achievement — it represents the success of every Kuwaiti and Arab woman who has proven that competence, dedication, and hard work can open doors at the world’s most renowned institutions”, she said in a statement.
“I truly believe that women’s empowerment begins with believing in their ability to lead and create impact. Today, Kuwaiti women are active partners in shaping the future — not only locally but globally".
Al-Zeabot continues to serve as President of the Harvard Alumni Club of Kuwait, where she has advanced the club’s academic and cultural initiatives. Under her leadership, the club has strengthened ties between Harvard alumni and institutions across the region, encouraging collaboration and knowledge exchange.
“Through this role, I look forward to supporting initiatives that bring Harvard alumni in the region together, promote innovation, research and entrepreneurship, and generate a positive impact on our societies,” Al-Zeabot said.
Al-Zeabot holds a bachelor’s degree from Kuwait University and three master’s degrees in Geology, Business Administration and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC). She is also a graduate of Harvard Business School.
“Harvard has always been a place that inspires global thinking and responsible action. I hope this appointment will motivate the next generation of young men and women in Kuwait and across the region to pursue excellence and to believe that there are no limits to ambition when paired with perseverance, knowledge and collective effort” she said.
