A set of procedures has been updated by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee in order to enter Abu Dhabi for those within the UAE. The new measure will take effect from Sunday, January 17. This move comes as part of the precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Entry to the emirate will be allowed after only receiving a negative PCR/DPI test result within 48 hours. A PCR test is also required on day four of entry and day eight, as day 1 is counted as entry date into Abu Dhabi.

"The procedures apply to all UAE residents, except those vaccinated in the national vaccination programmes and volunteers in Phase III vaccine clinical trials whose status is active (letter 'E' or gold star) on the Alhosn app," the Government of Abu Dhabi Media Office tweeted on Saturday.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) stated that the country has vaccinated 131,939 residents against Covid-19 in the past 24 hours and the total number of doses vaccinated are 1.79 million, according to state-run news agency WAM.
