Journo-turned-politician Veena George to replace KK Shailaja as Kerala's Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: While significant changes are made in the portfolios of allied ministers in the second Pinarayi government in Kerala, an agreement is reached today regarding the division of departments of the ministers in the cabinet 2.0.
Veena George,the journalist turned politician, who won from Aranmula, will take over the health department from KK Shailaja, said reports.
The CPM's decision to drop 'virus slayer' Shailaja teacher from the portfolio amid the pandemic was heavily criticized on social media.
KN Balagopal-Finance and P Rajeev-Industry are in other important departments.
The Home and Vigilance Departments will be handled by the Chief Minister himself.
The Ministry of power is handed over to K.Krishnankutty of JDS. MM Mani was in charge of the department in the first Pinarayi government while the JDS got the water resources department.
This time, the water resources department taken away from the JDS will be given to the Kerala Congress MLA.
The CPM also withdrewed the transport department from the NCP and handed it over to Democratic Kerala Congress leader Anthony Raju.
Forest Department is given to AK Shaseendran of NCP.
