BJP candidate, PM Modi on Bharat rice posters: CPM files complaint
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has lodged a complaint with the Palakkad district collector against the BJP for circulating the posters of a rice distribution event.
The posters, announcing the distribution of ‘Bharat Rice’ in the Kodumbu junction, a village here, at 8 am on March 29, carried the pictures of PM Narendra Modi and Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency candidate C Krishnakumar, The News Minute reported.
Even as the retail price of rice went up by 15 per cent in 2023, the Centre introduced Bharat Rice at a subsidised price of Rs 29 per kg.
Meanwhile, the state’s minister for Food and Civil Supplies Gr Anil said that the Centre had asked Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the state to display Narendra Modi’s photo in 10,000 ration shops across Kerala.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan earlier told the Assembly that the government would not implement it, and called it an election stunt.
