Kerala to conduct census in the state: CM

Thiruvananthapuram: CM Pinarayi Vijayan told Assembly on Monday that the government had informed Centre of its decision to conduct Census in the state.

He made the statement while answering a query by Thiruvenchoor Radhakrishnan in the Assembly.

The government started the procedures for census including training of enumerators, assigning employees in various departments, cancellation of transfers of employees linked to census and republish questionnaire for census, among others.

However, the government also informed the Centre of the state’s stand against National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR), he said
