Probe against Bishop shouldn't be delayed: Chennithala

Kochi: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala demanded that the investigation into the complaint against Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal should not be delayed.

There are allegations that the investigation is progressing in a sluggish manner. It is a serious issue that the investigation has not been complete even after 76 days.

Chennithala was addressing the media in Kochi. He added that no moves to delay the probe should be made by the government.

The government needs to clarify why the investigation was delayed. The moves to sabotage the investigation against the accused should not be allowed.

However, Chennithala did not offer any support to the nuns who are staging a protest demanding the arrest of the bishop.
