Thiruvananthapuram: In its petition to the Supreme Court asking for more time to implement the Supreme Court judgement of 28 September allowing entry to Sabarimala for women of all ages, TDravancore Devaswom Board (TDB) appears to be in a no hurry –if not a go slow – mode. The Board will not make oral mention for its case to be heard on urgent basis.

Board Chairman A Padmakumar said that its course of action will be discussed after the court issues its decision. He added that he would rather not guess what the court's verdict would be.

The Board's petition was filed on Monday, seeking more time for implementing the verdict, on the grounds of law and order problems and the security threats faced by the women attempting to make the pilgrimage.

TDB has decided to wait till its petition is listed in its normal course.

In response to certain other petitions, Chief Justice had made it clear that petitions regarding Sabarimala would be taken up only on 22 January. As such there is a probability of the TDS petition also being deferred till that date.
