Kozhikode: Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on continued atrocities inflicted on Palestine by Israel, is disgusting. He was inaugurating a'Day-night sit-in in solidarity with Palestine' organised here by Solidarity Youth Movement.

"India was the only country outside the Arab world whichcondemned the formation of Israel in 1947 after the division of Palestine. Gandhiji was the first to say ‘Palestine for Arabs’. The current government and the prime minister are crossing all limits and try to establish close ties with Israel. Rigorous activism is needed to correct the rulers and retain the traditional stance of the country. The Zionist nation was established after expelling tens of thousands of people including hapless women and children. Jews lived peacefully under the Muslim rule. Any Jew who lives anywhere in the world can go to Israel and settle there at any time. But, a Palestinian who left his home two days ago finds it difficult to enter his home. Palestinians' struggle will definitely win one day," Aiyar said.

Solidarity State President PM Salih presided over the function. Madhyamam-Media One Group Editor O. Abdurahman, Jama'at-e-Islami Kerala Amir MI Abdul Aziz, AP Abdul Wahab, Hameed Vaniyambalam and others spoke.
