Pinarayi govt enters third year
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: Pinarayi Vijayan govt enters its third year with cautious moves, amidst setbacks. Setting records in project completion, disbursal of welfare pensions without arrears, approving budget before the month of April and strengthening of public hospitals and educational institutions are a few of the noticeable achievements of the government.
However, empty treasury, custodial deaths, land encroachment by ministers, rude measures against those who rallied to protect their land and shelter did taint the reputation of the government to a large extent.
The government is completing its two year after swearing-in on May 25. However, celebration programmes of the second anniversary are beginning today at Kannur. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the function organised at the Collectorate Ground. Closing ceremony of the celebration will be held on May 30 at Thiruvananthapuram.
However, the opposition will observe a Betradayal Day' across the 140 legislative assemblies, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the government.
