Kozhikode: The holy month of Ramadan will begin on May 17, Thursday in Kerala, religious leaders announced Tuesday.

K.V. Imbichahammad Haji, Nasar Hayy Shihab Thangal, Panakkad Hyderalai Shihab Thangal, Professor K. Alikutty Musliyar and other Qadis announced that as the Ramadan crescent was not sighted, Wednesday will be the last day of lunar month Shaaban.
