Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan promised an all-party meeting that efforts will be made to save tourists from facing any sort of inconvenience on account of strike or hartals.
The meeting chaired by Pinarayi, raised concern about frequent hartals that affect the tourism industry badly. The parties agreed that sudden hartals, without notice, are sending a wrong message about the state. However, the meeting held that hartals cannot be altogether avoided, but greater alertness is required in this regard.
The meeting also decided to approach the Centre to seek a higher allocation of items sold through ration shops.
