Thiruvananthapuram: A former Radio Jockey and a folk singer, was hacked to death while another person was injured in an attack by a four-member gang early Tuesday, police said.

The deceased, Rajesh (34) was a former RJ with a private FM channel.

Rajesh along with his friend had gone to a programme and were taking rest in their office when the attack took place, as per preliminary information, police said.

A senior police official said the incident took place around 2 a.m. at Madavoor in at Attingal, about 50 km from here.

"Rajesh had returned to his studio after a function when a group of four armed men barged in and slashed him to death. His friend was injured in the attack," said the official.

Rajesh started his career with a leading FM radio here. After a brief stint in the Middle East, he has been making programmes on his own.
