Kochi: Customs officials have seized 500 grams of drugs, worth Rs 1 crore, smuggled from Hong Kong, here Wednesday.
“Customs officials seized a parcel containing 500 grams mixture of narcotic drugs which came from Hong Kong,” customs commissioner Sumit Kumar said.
He said the officials, while scanning parcels from abroad at a post office, noticed one without a name, but with an address. On suspicion, it was opened and found to contain 124 packets of a white powder.
It was a mixture of drugs, including cocaine, and was worth about Rs 1 crore, he said.
The officials managed to trace the address given in the parcel, he said, adding one person has been taken into custody in connection with the case.
