CM, Assembly laud Ranjini for rescuing man who fell from height in Kochi
text_fieldsKerala Assembly came together to congratulate the lawyer Ms Ranjini who rescued a man who fell off a building in Kochi and took him to hospital.
Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan said that her intervention was timely and laudable. He added that it should shock everyone to note that the people who gathered just gazed in inaction in such a situation.
When nobody present there came forward to attend to the bleeding Saji, 46, Ranjini who happened to come that way stopped and then intercepted a passing car and got the couple in it to rush Saji to the nearest private hospital. The CCTV footage of the hotel where Saji was stying was viewed widely on Monday among Keralites when the state's conscience was virtually awakened to the facts and factors of the incident.
The CM added that those who come forward for such assistance will receive all legal protection. He recognized that people generally are afraid that once they rush such victims to the hospital, they will have to frequently report before police and be involved in legal cases for long.
He also appealed to all Keralites to bear in mind that any one who renders that service would be saving a life. The CM was replying to a submission made by Hibi Eden MLA from Kochi.
