Muslim leaders meet CM, seeks intervention in Ma’dani matter
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: A team of leaders of various Muslim organizations on Monday called on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking the government’s intervention in the matter of Islamic scholar and PDP leader Abdul Nasser Ma’adani to ensure that he received proper health care in Karnataka.
The approach of the Karnataka government in the matter is that of supporting the mysterious motive of some vested interests to eliminate Ma’dani by denying him proper healthcare. The LDF government should immediately take steps to save his life, the leaders said in a plea submitted to the Chief Minister.
The plea was handed over to the CM at Ramanilayam, the government guest house in Thrissur.
The team also urged Vijayan to give the matter a humanitarian consideration. They suggested that an all-party team from the State visit the Chief Minister and Home Minister of Karnataka and recommend necessary steps to save the life of Ma’dani. “Our plea is to the Chief Minister is to try to bring the PDP leader to Kerala as the hearing in the case he is involved is yet to conclude,” the team said.
Ma’dani is accused in the 2008 Bengaluru serial blasts case.
The Chief Minister has assured the team of favorable moves in the matter.
The delegation included among others KP Abubacker Hazrath, VH Alliyar Maulavi, Advocate Hafiz Abubacker, Siddique Maliki, Basheer Wahabi Adimali, PMSA Attakkoya Thangal, Chelakkulam Abdul Hameed Maulavi, Saifuddeen Qasimi, and Jaafali Darimi.
