Thrissur: Police held a man hailing from Thrissur on charges of death threat against President Ram Nath Kovind during his visit to Kerala.
The man, identified as Jayaraman, a priest at Chirakkal temple in Thrissur, had threatened to kill the President on his arrival to inaugurate the centenary celebrations of St Thomas College.
He issued the threat by calling up a police control room here.
When quizzed, Jayaraman told the police that he had been liquored up at the time of making the call.
President arrived in Thriuvanthapuram on Sunday evening, and on Monday he would inaugurate the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Kerala Legislative Assembly.
