Ockhi funds utilised: Kerala CM
text_fieldsThiruvanthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Piniarayi Vijayan on Sunday rubbished allegations that funds received by Kerala towards Ochki disaster relief remaining unspent.
Answering Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala’s allegations, the Chief Minister presented a detailed report on the utilisation of the fund.
The State received funds totaling Rs 218 crore; of which a total of Rs 107 crore was received in the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund following Ochki, and the remaining Rs 111 crore received in the State Disaster Response Fund.
Of the funds received, Rs 116.79 crore was either spent already or spend issued. Alongside, a total of Rs. 84.90 crore would be made, toting up the fund utilisation as of now to Rs 201.69 crore.
The Chief Minister also said that Rs.65.68 crore of the Rs.107 crore received by the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund was either spent or orders pertaining to it already issued. Apart from this, government was still mulling over projects worth Rs.84.90 crore, Chief Minister said.
