Kannur: Sensational Pinarayi serial murder case accused Soumya , 28, allegedly committed suicide at the Kannur Women’s Prison Friday.
Soumya, who killed her parents and daughter each over the course of several months, reportedly took her life by hanging on a cashew tree on the jail premises.
She was in charge of herding cows. She had left her cell to collect fodder for cows early in the morning, before being found dead by 9.30 am.
Although she was rushed to Kannur district hospital, she could not be saved. Her body is kept in the hospital morgue.
Vannathanveetill Soumya had been confined at Kannur Women’s Prison on charges of murdering her parents: Kunhikanna(80), Kamala (65), and her daughter.
Soumya earlier stated to the police she had killed first her daughter by lacing rat poison in her food after the child discovered Soumya’s adulterous affairs in 2012.
Over many months, her parents also fell in her deaths traps.
