Idukki: Following let-up in rains, the water level in Idukki dam has dropped to 2401.80 feet, prompting authorities to lower three shutters currently open to 1.9 metres.

Dam authorities cut the outflow of water from the reservoir to 600 cumecs against 700 cumecs yesterday, while closing first and fifth shutters.

With the rainfall in the catchment area came down, the water level in the dam declined.

Reports from Mullaparyiar dam authorities indicate declining rains in the catchment area, and the water level at the dam came down to 140 feet.

However, shutters of both Pampa and Moozhiyar dams were lifted to 15 cm.
