Police team returns in hurry without arresting Jalandhar Bishop

Chandigarh: Bishop Franco Mulakkal who is facing sexual assault charges, was not arrested after interrogation by the probe team on Tuesday.
The investigation team led by Vaikom DySP K Subash will return to Kerala from Jalandhar on Wednesday.
Mulakkal was questioned by the probe team for 9 hours on Tuesday. According to the police, there are still procedures related to the investigation that were yet to be completed.
The team had collected digital evidences relating to the case and taken Mulakkal's mobile phone into custody.
The bishop has denied the charges saying that the nun's statements were fabricated in a way so as to implicate him.
No other details of the interrogation are known so far. Pressure from high levels is clearly evident in the measures carried out by the police.
Investigative procedures are likely to move at a snail's pace.
