Priest Jaise K George surrenders in sexual abuse case

Kollam: Jaise K George, the fourth accused in the alleged sexual abuse case of a parish woman, surrendered before the probe team here

The priest surrendered after Supreme Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea.

While rejecting the plea the apex court earlier asked the accused to surrender before the police at the earliest. The court told them to file bail application after surrendering.

Despite the court directed the prime accused Abraham Varghese to surrender, he still remains at large.

Police had earlier arrested the second and third accused in the case.

The case came to light after the woman's husband had accused the five priests of using his wife's confession to 'blackmail' and 'sexually abuse' her.
