Bunty Chor attempts to commit suicide

Thiruvananthapuram: Devinder Singh alias 'Bunty Chor', considered a skilled conman and who is undergoing imprisonment here on charges of burglary, Tuesday allegedly attempted to commit suicide in the jail.

Singh, lodged in central prison here, was admitted to the Medical College hospital after he stated that he had consumed parts of a CFL bulb along with his food, hospital sources said.

He was admitted in the hospital after a thorough examination and his condition was stated to be stable.

A city court had on May 22 sentenced him to 10 years jail term for breaking into an NRI businessman's house here and stealing several costly items in 2013.
