Won’t reopen closed bars, says Excise Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Excise Minister T.P Ramakrishnan Thursday said the LDF government would not reopen the closed bars in the state.

“Our government’s policy is liquor ban. The government will do awareness campaign against the alcohol,” T.P Ramakrishnan told reporters.

“Any change in the present liquor police will be taken after consultation with the LDF,” the minister said.

“The liquor consumption has come down after the closure of bars,” he added.
