text_fieldsbookmark_border
Thiruvananthapuram: National Human Rights Commission member Justice Cyriac Joseph has said patriotism is not the monopoly of any particular community.
“People from all sections of society had taken part in India’s freedom struggle. Our constitution ensures equality to all,” said Cyriac Joseph.
“The data shows that most of the persons who were punished under the sedition charges belong to Hindu religion,” he said.
“It is not sedition to oppose the death penalty. If the legal experts can oppose the death penalty, the students can too do that,” he said.
