Didn’t say films are not Haraam: Munavvar Ali

Kozhikode: Sayyid Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal Friday said the media reports on his remarks on the films were baseless.

Munavvar Ali, in a Facebook post, alleged his remarks, in an interview to a Malayalam magazine, were misquoted, saying that he did not say the films were not Haraam.

“I did not make any remarks crossing the limits of the religion. There are many documentaries that give good messages. We can’t ignore that reality,” he said.

“It is regrettable the way my remarks were misquoted ignoring the context in which I said so,” he added.
