Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance court Wednesday ordered a probe against SNDP general secretary Vellapally Natesan and three others in the microfinance scam.
The court, while considering a plea filed by Opposition leader V.S Achuthanandan, also ordered the probe team to submit their preliminary report by March 5.
Achuthanandan, in his plea, had alleged that Natesan had swindled hundreds of crores of rupees in the name of a microfinance scheme run by the SNDP.
The microfinance scheme of the SNDP had made use of huge sums of soft loan taken from government agencies.
Several district-level functionaries of SNDP have already been booked for irregularities in the scheme.
