Kochi: Former Jail DGP Alexander Jacob Friday said there was no mention of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s name in the controversial letter purported to have been written by solar scam accused Saritha S Nair.

Alexander Jacob reportedly deposed before the solar commission that the letter had mentioned names of 13 VIPs and a police officer. He, however, declined to expose their names before the panel.

“The letter had been kept in the jail. It was the jail wardens who had informed me these details contained in the letter,” he said.

He also said Saritha was shifted from Pathanamthitta Jail to Attakkulangara Women’s Jail due to security reasons.

“The jail authorities had seized 21-page-letter from her. According to Prison Act 751, the letter was handed over to her counsel Feny Balakrishnan,” he said.
