Perumbavoor: The Perumbavoor Magistrate Court Friday awarded three years imprisonment to Saritha S Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan in the solar scam.
Saritha and Biju were found guilty by the court for amassing Rs 40 lakh through cheating.
The court acquitted actress Shalu Menon, her mother Kaladevi and one of the staff of Team Solar Manilal.
The duo had taken the money from several people after promising to install solar panels with the help of Sajaad from Mudikkal in Perumbavoor.
The case was that Sarita and Biju had collected Rs. 40 lakh from Sajjad K.M after promising to support him in setting up a power plant at Mudikkal and also to invest in wind mills at Radhapuram in Tamil Nadu.
