Munnar: CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Saturday said his party always stood with the plantation workers in Munnar.

“We are wholly supporting the protest launched by the plantation workers,” Kodiyeri told reporters after visiting the striking plantation workers.

“If the government fails to meet their demands, the stir will be further intensified under the aegis of CPI(M),” he said.

“The party is with the workers, not with the TATA company,” he added.

Meanwhile, a tense situation prevailed after the plantation workers protested against a women delegation of the CPI(M), who visited the spot.

Protestors refused to accommodate P.K Sreemathy, MP, in the protest venue. She was accompanied by CPI(M) central committee member K.K Shylaja teacher and M.C Josephine.
