Chandy terms Pinarayi Vijayan’s RSS-BJP hostility political opportunism
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Sunday termed the opposition of CPI-M leader Pinarayi Vijayan towards the BJP and RSS ‘political opportunism’.
“The CPI-M is a party that collaborated with the Janasangam to contest elections in 1977. But the Marxist party faced a disgraceful failure in that elections,” Chandy said adding the Congress, unlike the CPI-M, would not change its policies according to the situation.
Asked about the latest shift in the CPI-M’s approach towards the Muslim League, the Chief Minister said Pinarayi Vijayan’s remark that the League is not a communal party was appreciable.
“Muslim League is a strong ally of the Congress. The CPI-M should apologise to the League for the insults it hurled at them in the past,” the Congress veteran said.
