Charge sheet prepared in disproportionate assets case against TO Sooraj

Kochi: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has prepared charge-sheet against former Public Works Secretary T.O. Sooraj over the charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The Vigilance charge-sheet accuses Sooraj of amassing wealth worth Rs 11 crore. The report has been submitted to the government seeking permission for his prosecution.
The disproportionate assets were calculated based on the documents and data of the period 2004-2014. The report says the suspended officer had amassed wealth that was thrice the amount of his income during the ten-year period.
The State government had suspended him from service pending inquiry into the charges.
The suspension came at the end of a series of raids on his office and residence by the Vigilance.
