Kottayam: In a veiled attack on the UDF government in the State, Kerala Congress (M) leader Jose K. Mani on Sunday said the party did not get justice in the bar bribery case.

“I feel justice was done in the case of Kerala Congress (M) in the bar bribery case. There were direct and indirect attacks against the party. Mysterious ‘moves’ were made by certain quarters. The media should investigate and find out that,” Jose K. Mani, the Lok Sabha MP from Kottayam, said.

He added some people also tried to write-off the party amidst the bribery allegations.

Meanwhile, his father and former Finance Minister K M Mani on Sunday refrained from making further comments on his earlier remarks.

“I have already said all that I wanted to say. I don’t have anything more to say. It is better not to make further remarks on the matter,” Mani said.

82-year-old Mani, who was forced to resign as Finance Minister following the High Court's observations in bar bribery case, had given indications of “deliberate political conspiracy” against his party in the bar bribery case.

The Kerala Congress(M) chief, however, refrained from revealing the names of those involved behind the alleged conspiracy behind his ouster.
