Palakkad: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Saturday sought an explanation from Palakkad DCC secretary P Balagopal over his tour to Goa with controversial businessman V M Radhakrishnan.
KPCC secretary Thampanoor Ravi has issued a notice to the Palakkad DCC secretary seeking his explanation in seven days.
Local TV channels had earlier brought out the photos taken during his trip to Goa with V M Radhakrishnan.
The sub-committee of Congress-led ruling UDF that looked into the reasons for the defeat of UDF candidate and JD(U) state president M P Veerendrakumar in Palakkad in the Lok Sabha polls, had recommended action against certain local leaders, including P Balagopal, responsible for the defeat.
