Kalamassery land-grab case: Salim Raj exempted from charge sheet

Kochi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Wednesday submitted the charge sheet at the Ernakulam CJM court, exempting Salim Raj in the Kalamassery land-grab case.

Revenue officials K.V Sabu, Morad, UD clerk at Ernakulam collectorate Geevarghese and additional tahsildar Krishnakumari are the first four accused. Salim Raj's relatives Abdul Majid and Abdul Salam are the other two persons.

Earlier, the officials had exempted Salim Raj when they prepared the FIR too. Despite the victims levelling allegations against Salim Raj, the CBI cited lack of adequate evidence to charge him in the case.

The case involves grabbing of land worth crores of rupees.
