Kozhikode: The police Friday arrested a 48-year-old man on charges of murdering an elderly couple at Perambra in Kozhikode.
The arrested has been identified as Chandran, a native of Kooneri.
Balan (65) and Shantha (62) were found dead with stab injuries at their residence at Perambra around 8.30 pm on Thursday.
Police said the accused committed the crime while he was attempting to loot. An amount of Rs. 25,000 and ornaments stolen by the accused were also found from a plot nearby.
