Two gold bars seized from passenger at Kochi airport

Kochi: Two gold bars worth Rs 5.50 lakh were seized by customs officials from a passenger who arrived at the airport here from Kuala Lampur Wednesday.

The man, hailing from Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu, had arrived here by the Malindo flight early this morning, customs sources said.

He was intercepted at the exit gate on suspicion and was subjected to a detailed search. The gold bars were found concealed in his rectum.
