Case of daubing oil on IAS officer won’t be withdrawn: Chandy
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Tuesday said the case against the KSU activists for pouring motor oil on former Higher Secondary director Kesavendra Kumar IAS would not be withdrawn.
“The decision to withdraw the case against the KSU activists will be reviewed,” Chandy told reporters at a press conference here in Delhi.
“It was with good intention the government decided to drop the case. There was no external influence to withdraw the case,” Chandy told reporters at a press conference here in Delhi.
The government move to withdraw the case had triggered widespread protests.
Expressing disappointment over the government’s move, Kesavendra Kumar Monday had said that he would pursue the case on his own in case the government withdrew the case.
The incident had occurred on February 2013. A set of students owing allegiance to the Kerala Students Union (KSU) were arraigned as accused in the case.
