Kolkata: CPI(M) politburo member Prakash Karat Wednesday said there was no confusion in the party over the candidature of its veteran leader V.S Achuthanandan.
“A right decision will be taken at a right time,” Karat told reporters.
On Saturday, CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had said age would not be a barrier for V.S Achuthanandan to contest in the elections.
“Age will not be a barrier for VS to contest in the elections. I agree with Yechuri’s stand on the matter,” said Kodiyeri.
“It is the party state committee to decide on whether Achuthanandan and Pinarayi to contest in the elections,” he said.
